LOCATION - HOW TO ARRIVE

By CAR:
Ask your rental company for a roadmap. From San José, take Ruta 32, until you get to Limón. You will drive through the breathtaking National Park Braulio Carillo and follow the road, descending to the Caribbean Lowlands while you pass Guapiles, Siquirres and other small Caribbean towns. Once you get to Limón, and make a detour to Cahuita, Puerto Viejo, Manzanillo etc (from “El Cruce” to Cieneguita) you will drive pass the Airport, go on aproximately 15 minutes until the Penshurt´s bridge (it is the only bridge on the road that has a metallic structure). Keep driving and you will pass the gas station at Valle de la Estrella intersection, continue the road (keep your left) a few minutes and you will get to a police checkpoint. Just continue the road for just a few more minutes and you will see the Cahuita Butterfly Garden on your right, make a detour at the following entrance on your left.

If you are better acquainted with the area, you enter the entrance previous to Cahuita main entrance. The name of the neigbourhood is Barrio La Unión, after about 250 meters you will see the house on your left.

By BUS:
Direct buses leave daily from San José to Cahuita. The Caribbean Terminal is located in Cinco Esquinas de Tibas.

It takes two hour and thirty minutes from San José to Limón by Car, the bus will take more time because it makes a couple of stops on the road.

By PLANE:
You can take a flight to Limón, the airport is located 25 minutes from Cahuita.
